Edmonton Oilers defenceman Andrew Ference has been suspended three games by the NHL Department of Player Safety for an illegal check to the head of Vancouver Canucks forward Zack Kassian. The incident happened in the second period of the Oilers loss to the Canucks on Saturday. Ference received a two-minute minor penalty for an illegal check to the head.
