Prima baie generala este indicat sa aiba loc la 2-3 zile dupa caderea cordonului ombilical. In general, acest lucru se intampla cam a 8-a, a 10-a zi de la nastere.
Pana atunci se va folosi baia partiala. Dupa acest eveniment, bebelusul se va imbaia in fiecare zi, pana la varsta de un an, baia zilnica fiind o conditie esentiala pentru mentinerea sanatatii copilului si pentru asigurarea unei bune dezvoltari.
A nu se renunta la baie nici macar atunci cand copilul este bolnav si are febra. Se pare ca este gresita conceptia conform careia baia ar trebui evitata cand bebelusul este racit.
Cu exceptia anumitor boli de piele, nu exista nici o alta boala pentru care sa fie nevoie sa se intrerupa baia bebelusului.
Inainte de imbaiere trebuie sa aveti pregatite si la indemana toate cele ce va vor fi necesare pe parcursul baii si dupa.
In cazul in care uitati ceva, nu va mai puteti deplasa de langa copil, caci a-l lasa singur in baie este o mare imprudenta si poate reprezenta un moment fatal.
In general aveti nevoie de imbracaminte curata, scutec, prosop, sapun sau gel de dus pentru copii, o manusa de baie, un termometru de baie, betisoare de urechi pentru copii, din acelea cu opritor, o forfecuta de unghii fara varf, eventual pudra de talc, daca bebelusul are vreo iritatie in regiunile pliurilor.
Altfel uleiurile, lotiunile, cremele, foarte la moda astazi in ingrijirea bebelusilor, nu sunt indicate decat la sfatul medicului.
Aceasta deoarece glandele sebacee sunt active inca din perioada intrauterina, eliberand grasimea naturala, sebumul, drept pentru care inlocuirea sa cu grasimi sau uleiuri artificiale, nu este justificata, tulburand chiar echilibrul secretiei.
Faceti in prealabil dezinfectia caditei, cu apa fiarta sau solutie de cloramina. Sunt indicate caditele de plastic, speciale, cu dubla pozitionare, in care beblusul poate sa stea inclinat pe spate, pana la 6 luni, iar de la 6 luni in sezut, in partea cealalta a caditei.
Cadita e turnata pe formele bebelusului, astfel ca nu-i permite sa alunece si sa se scufunde. Dar in lipsa acesteia, puteti improviza, pentru o mai mare siguranta, punandu-l spre exemplu in cosul cu rufe, pe fundul cazii din baie.
Copilul va fi asezat intotdeauna in apa, pe un scutec, un prosop sau chiar pe hainutele de care tocmai l-ati dezbracat. Daca aveti dureri de spate si va este greu sa il spalati in cada, puteti pune copilul in chiuveta, pe fundul careia asezati un prosop care va impiedica bebelusul sa alunece.
Atentie insa, vigilenta trebuie sa se dubleze fiindca ne poate scapa usor din mainile sapunite existand pericolul sa se izbeasca de materialul dur al chiuvetei. Daca sugarul este murdar de materii fecale, este spalat in regiunea fesiera inainte de a fi introdus in baie.
Dupa baie, copilul se pune intr-un cearceaf sau un prosop mare din bumbac, care absoarbe bine.. Se acorda o deosebita grija uscarii cutelor pielii.
Se vor tampona foarte atent pliurile din jurul gatului, cele de la picioare, in spatele urechilor, sub brat etc. In aceste cute nu trebuie sa ramana nici umezeala, nici resturi de murdarie sau de pudra, caci pielea respira mai greu si este mult mai predispusa iritatiilor
Sfaturi si reguli de baza legate de baia bebelusilor
- Foarte important! Nu lasati niciodata copilul singur in baie caci se poate ineca in foarte putin timp si in foarte putina apa. Deconectati telefonul sau puneti in functiune robotul pentru a nu fi distrasa si tentata astfel, sa raspundeti.
Daca este totusi o urgenta si trebuie neaparat sa raspundeti fie la telefon, fie la soneria de la intrare, infasurati bebelusul in ceva si luati-l cu voi, ori asezati-l undeva unde nu risca nimic, cel mai sigur jos.
- Cea mai buna perioada din zi pentru baie este seara, fara insa ca celelalte momente ale zilei sa fie contraindicate. Aceasta alegere a momentului se justifica prin faptul ca bebelusul manifesta dupa baie, o stare de totala relaxare, cu tendinta catre un somn lung si linistit.
- In mod obisnuit, la sugarul mic se face baie inainte de penultima masa si anume intre orele 20 si 21. La sugarul mai mare, baia se face inainte de ultima masa, adica intre orele 21 si 22.
- Nu faceti in niciun caz baie copilului imediat dupa masa!
- Este bine ca baia sa fie facuta in fiecare zi la aceeasi ora.
- In timpul baii, temperatura camerei trebuie sa fie in jur de 22-24 de grade. Supraincalzirea camerei poate fi riscanta nu numai pentru copil, ci si pentru cei care participa la realizarea baii, stiut fiind faptul ca raceala poate fi determinata mai degraba de caldura decat de frig.
De asemenea, usile si ferestrele trebuie sa fie inchise pentru a nu se crea curent.
- Temperatura apei trebuie sa nu depaseasca pe cea a corpului copilului, 37-38 de grade. Se spune ca apa poate fi incercata cu cotul, acesta reprezentand o zona mai sensibila a pielii, spre deosebire de mana care este un indicator mai slab, avand o mai mare rezistenta la stimuli extremi.
Dar s-a dovedit ca si aceasta este o greseala, caci introducerea in apa a unei suprafete limitate a pielii cotului, face ca perceptia sa fie redusa si deci inselatoare.
Verificata ulterior cu termometrul, s-a constatat ca uneori urca la 39-40 de grade. Atentie! Si termometrul trebuie citit in apa, caci odata scos, isi modifica cifra instantaneu, dupa temperatura inconjuratoare.
Baia poate fi un moment foarte placut atat pentru bebelusi, asigurandu-le distractia si relaxarea in acelasi timp, cat si pentru toti participantii la baie. Poate reprezenta momentul vesel al intregii case.
